Thiesing Veneer is a family owned business located in Mooresville, Indiana and has been in operation since 1920. In our production facility, we manufacture hardwood and softwood face veneer for our customers, according to their specifications and applications. We operate two shifts and normally process 220,000 feet of logs per month. The major species that we slice are white oak, red oak, walnut, maple, birch, poplar, hickory, and cherry with different slicing options.
VENEER OFF-BEARER JOB DESCRIPTION
- The essential duty of the veneer off-bearer is to neatly stack the sheets of veneer as they come out of the machine.
- Continuously counting sheets into bundles.
- Reading and understanding work process tags.
- Monitoring for product defects, and removing defective veneer from good quality veneer.
REQUIREMENTS
- Standing for the shift along with occasional medium effort pushing and lifting.
- Repetitive motion with hand and arms throughout shift.
- Safety toe work shoes.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Working and communicating effectively with coworkers.
- Willingness to listen to supervisor.
- Reliable attendance.
- 18+ years old.
STARTING PAY: $14.00/hr
- .50¢ pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, 3 year
- Medical, dental, and vision insurances after 90 days
- 401k after a year
SHIFT HOURS
- 1st Shift Slicing Dept: 6:30am-3pm
- 1st Shift Drying Dept: 7am-3:30pm
- 2nd Shift Slicing Dept: 3:30pm-12:30am
- 2nd Shift Drying Dept: 3:30pm-1am
