Associate Financial Analyst Job at Alliant Credit Union
What will your day look like?
This position will report to the VP of Finance and Treasury and will support the department in its primary functions such as investing liquid funds, and managing interest rate and liquidity risks. Supports Asset/Liability Management in forecasting and analyzing the balance sheet, capital and the income statement. Controls and organizes large data sets in order to balance income statements.
Responsibilities:Do you see yourself doing this?
- Participate in tactical discussions to identify the unique risks (interest rate, credit, prepayment, etc.) and cash flows of each lending and investment product in order to assist with asset allocation and capital planning.
- Analyze the composition of the entire credit union balance sheet such as loans, investments, deposits and wholesale borrowing to support asset allocation and capital planning processes.
- Analyze securities pre-purchase to ensure complete understanding of risk/return profile unique to the individual treasury assets and price offered to support quality investment decisions.
- Maintain swap, investment and wholesale debt positional data to ensure investment and risk management decisions are being made from accurate data.
- Maintain and improve short- and medium-term cash forecasts by analyzing actual and forecasted growth of loans, investments and deposits in order to aid tactical treasury decisions.
- Provide analytic support to other departments such as Accounting to ensure income is recorded accurately.
- Monitor investment portfolio asset allocations and compare to limits and alert supervisors to potential violations of policy in advance of any investment purchase.
- Execute daily payments with wholesale counterparties to reduce counterparty exposure.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.

License/Certifications/Training:
CFA or working towards – Preferred
