As a Power Controls & Information Systems Engineer, you'll be a key member of the engineering team delivering new product and process innovations. You will be helping seek the most difficult automation challenges to bringing our “Factory of the Future” vision to life. Power Controls Engineers at P&G are THE glue that help build the digital landscape for all production equipment and help drive Industry 4.0 emerging technologies, digital manufacturing, and future automation trends, and including best in class online & offline quality inspection systems to enable superior innovation and products for the consumers.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the site-wide Power Controls discipline, including setting strategic direction for masterplan investments, organizational capability, and technology roadmap. As P&G’s premier specialty chemical materials manufacturing plant supplying multiple business units, North Chicago Plant is leading the way in innovation for the future, technical mastery, and manufacturing excellence. This role is ideal for an individual who is looking for a growth opportunity. End-to-end ownership of Power Controls related activities, including plant power systems, control systems, data systems, and instrumentation. Candidate will engage deeply in the design & implementation of new projects, and will support continuous improvement opportunities for safety, quality, & reliability. Key investments planned for the coming years include power system capacity, control system platform, and the introduction of a new data system.
Technical Mastery: You should have a strong technical background and/or curiosity to troubleshoot hard problems and develop new solutions. Have real passion for integrating technologies to enable the future of Digital Manufacturing via Industry 4.0 technologies, Data, and Analytics.
Agility: Ability to quickly embrace and adapt to changes in project scope, schedule and cost.
Builds Diverse and Collaborative Relationships: Development of relationships will be critical to your success in supporting the business. You will work seamlessly across global engineering organizations and production sites.

Job Qualifications
This is a junior-mid level experienced hire position within our Engineering Power Controls & Information Systems vertical. We're looking for candidates with 2-5+ years of relevant Power Controls experience. Project management & Honeywell specific experience is a plus due to ongoing & planned initiatives at the site.
Leadership: This is a highly autonomous position with the opportunity to set site-wide direction, manage multiple priorities, and direct the activities of others. This is blended Power Controls Engineering role with mixed project management duties too.
Technical Mastery: Demonstrated Power Controls capability in design, implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of a making operation. Technologies include Honeywell TDC-3000 & Experion and Allen Bradley ControLogix, control systems (motion control systems, motor controllers, VFDs, servo drives, and process controllers) and instrumentation (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, strain gauges, flow meters, load cells, relays, and solenoid valves).
Builds Diverse, Collaborative Relationships: Working closely with project teams and other plant leadership to drive business results.
Innovation: Ample opportunity to bring innovation to life in an agile and dynamic environment. Many technology choices need to be made which will set the direction for the plant.
Grows Capability: Given the diversity of technologies and projects, continuous learning and growth is essential. Education and training opportunities will be supported alongside daily work priorities. Candidate will have opportunities for travel to trainings and/or supplier locations.
