One of our valued Chicago city college locations is looking for a Facilities and Events Manager to join their growing team!
What will you do as the Facilities and Events Manager?
- The Facilities and Events Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of properties.
- The Facilities and Events Manager plans, schedules, and coordinates general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling of construction project properties.
- Inspects grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine necessity of repairs or maintenance.
- Act as liaison between location administrators and operations/finance.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of staff and contract personnel and evaluate their performance.
- Solicit and analyze bids from contractors for repairs, renovations, and maintenance. Approve payment for services.
- Meet with and secure bids for provision of property services, such as cleaning, maintenance, and security services.
- Investigate complaints and violations; suggest remediation
- Maintain contact with insurance carriers, fire and police departments, and other agencies to ensure protection and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Coordinate the purchase of building and maintenance supplies, equipment, or furniture.
- Secure and manage events and rental requests.
Who qualifies for the Facilities and Events Manager position?
- Must have at least 5 years of facilities experience (HVAC, electrician, construction, engineering, etc.)
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- This position will require responding to building emergencies 24/7 and working some evenings to respond to snow removal and managing events.
- Ability to travel between four campuses in the Chicagoland area.
What hours will the Facilities and Events Manager work?
- Monday – Friday
- 40 Hour workweek
- Contract or Direct Hire options available
- Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
How much will you earn as a Facilities and Events Manager?
- Starting pay is $70,000-$80,000 annually based on experience
