The Facility Healthcare Administrator is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the work of their nursing staff, which typically includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). They also coordinate nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met. The Facility Healthcare Administrator works collaboratively with providers and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the department in order to provide quality patient care and meet the goals and objectives established by the Newark Community Health Center.

Additional Essential Job Functions:

  • Full-Time employment requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work on weekends (Saturdays or Sundays)
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule
  • Overtime, and standby status may be required at times to meet operational and patient care needs
  • Ability to work at various sites (all site locations are in Essex County)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all nursing staff including CMA, LPN's and Medical Clerks

Education and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a master’s degree as an advanced nurse practitioner.
  • Licensed by the state of NJ as a registered nurse and an advanced practice nurse with prescriptive authority preferred (NJ CDS, federal DEA).
  • Federal NPI.
  • Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Certification Corporation or the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • Considerable knowledge of state and federal public health laws specifically in regard to Medicine.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • A minimum three years of ambulatory care in an FQHC setting preferred.
  • Three to five of supervisory experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability and excellent skills to independently carry out assignments; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, patient registries, and web-based tools and the use of an EHR; strong knowledge of medical terminology and relevant procedures; excellent written, electronic and oral communication skills; and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential. Oral and written proficiency in English is a must.
  • Bilingual capability in any language predominantly spoken by NCHC patients preferred.

As a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore, all new employees need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as boosters when eligible, and are required to provide documentation of receiving COVID-19 vaccines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
