Overview:

Our Finance team ensures that our financial systems are managed and running smoothly. Inside the
Finance and Accounting team we have experts who handle our reporting costs, bookkeeping, financial statements and general cash flow.

As our Controller, you will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company, developing and supplying monthly accounting and financial updates that are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records. You and your team will compile, communicate, and track actual data performance of the financials and will develop, document, and provide accounting policies. You will serve as liaison between the bank, tax consultants, and external auditors. Also, you will lead the finance operations area which will require your public relations skills to connect with other departments to ensure compliance

Tasks:

● Main process owner and manager of the following processes:

  • Accounts Payable (QB)
  • Accounts Receivable & Invoicing (QB)
  • Managing of Bill Pay, Payroll and A/P (ADP & Bill.com)
  • Bookkeeping and journal entries
  • Financial close, including preparation of detailed divisional consolidation schedules.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Cash forecasting
  • Vendor contracts for other SG&A
  • Tax compliance support (provide detailed schedules).
  • Financial reporting (Monthly P&Ls, Aging, Expense Reports, etc.)
  • Financial audits
  • Tax audits

● Manage and oversee the daily operation of the accounting and finance operations departments.

● Coordinate and oversee monthly financial accounting closings.

● Ensure all accounting practices are following legal guidelines and established accounting principles and pronouncements.● Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
● Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
● Plan, coordinate, and execute annual external financial audits.
● Oversee billing and preparation of tax documentation.
● Be the main liaison between bank account managers, tax consultants, and external financial auditors.
● Prepare monthly expense account analyses and provide variance analysis for management review.
● Identify and recommend, together with the Senior Accountant and Junior Accountants, expense reduction plans or options.
● Manage and oversee team's operational responsibilities, supporting roadblocks and re-evaluating priorities.
● Support on the creation of business requirements for the Financial Operations modules enhancements.
● Provide guidance and assistance on pharmacy inquiries related to payments, missing checks, remittance advice, among others.
● Discuss and explain monthly actual financial results.
● Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports and presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

● 8+ years of relevant work experience.
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business or similar.
● CPA or equivalent certification or progress towards certification required. (Ideal)
● Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP.
● Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish).
● Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices and use of standardized accounting policies and procedures.
● Experience with QuickBooks. Skilled and familiar with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
● Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff.
● Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
● Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
● Good analytical skills.

Working Conditions

The job will be full-time in-office at our Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico headquarters.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
