Job Description

Our client, a leading baked goods company, is currently seeking an ambitious Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include:

1) Schedule and oversee plant compliance with the food safety and quality management system through monitoring, verification, and validation activities

2) Ensure that critical limits and food safety and quality controls remain current and effective

3) Remain current and ensure compliance with product labeling requirements

4) Ensure plant is audit-ready at all times and oversee any customer, third-party and regulatory audits

5) Evaluate non-conformities and deviations through root cause analysis and provide recommendations and guidance for resolution

6) Develop and oversee the plant’s microbiological testing program to ensure food safety and quality and effective sanitation practices

7) Oversee new product development from product concept through launch and implementation

8) Develop and deliver employee training, as it relates to the food safety and quality management system

9) Oversee the Sanitation Department and ensure effective plant sanitation

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the baked goods industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in food safety and quality assurance management
