A Seasonal General Manager position is open at a 13-room destination tennis resort in a small town. The resort is located near beautiful Lake Chelan and the Okanogan National Forest. The position includes free lodging with all utilities in housing located on the resort property for one person.

This critical individual is responsible for the Hospitality operations (Front Desk, Guest Services, and Concierge) and Food & Beverage services. This position directs staff that performs the following duties and will also perform these duties on their own: welcomes and registers hotel guests, explaining the accommodations and establishing credit or method of payment. Checks guest out of the hotel, preparing and explaining the bill. Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all resort policies. This position will also act as the manager on duty during the overnight hours and will perform night audit responsibilities when needed.

We are looking for an experienced Lodging Manager who understands hospitality and knows how to create an impressive guest service experience with each visit. We seek a leader who communicates regularly with our small team, holds seasonal employees accountable, anticipates guests’ needs, and solicits feedback to make each guest experience meaningful and memorable. Our employees are the key to our success, and we need a Lodging Manager who can guide us to the next level by utilizing a positive demeanor and excellent coaching skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Block rooms for arrivals and ensure any discrepancies are resolved. Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of Special Attention Guests, Return Guests, and Groups.
- Check guest in and out in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible. Assure that guest is assigned type of room requested and the correct rate is charged. Assist with luggage to be delivered to guest room.
- Check out guest at end of stay. Ascertain guest satisfaction, collect keys, post late charges and present bill to guest. Settle bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
- Utilize a variety of computer systems to check guests in and out, run daily reports and select and block rooms for arriving guests.
- Take action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of resort guests and employees. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Be responsible for the hospitality and housekeeping work schedule.
- Focus on continuous improvement in guest experience; make the guest experience a priority for all team members; evaluate guest and staff feedback and benchmark other resorts to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
- Have knowledge of or willingness to learn budgets and financial goals
- Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors to enhance the guest experience
- Maintain service quality and standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints.
Requirements:
- Experience as an Assistant General Manager or Lodging Manager in the luxury resort industry
- Minimum of 7 years management experience with at least 5 years in hospitality
- Proven leadership skills and staff development experience
- Ability to multi-task in a service-focused atmosphere
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of hotel PMS systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of property maintenance and building safety
Compensation:
Base salary is $5800 per month plus bonus incentives (depending on experience.)
