Sandvik is seeking a Mobility Specialist position as a key member of the US HR team. Mobility plays a key role in ensuring the right talent can be mobilized at the right time. The role will deliver operational excellence and provide subject matter expertise and advice for Sandvik’s multiple US Divisions including local HR who currently organize individual mobility activities. This position reports to the US Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager and will work with the Global Mobility Team. This position is fully remote within the US so it is critical that the candidate have great communication and project management skills.
Your primary objective will be to work with our various, local HR Business Partners to provide a strong mobility function, which provides clear and consistent advice on mobility across Sandvik USA. You will also help interpret mobility policies and processes that are best practice and will provide specialist guidance to global and or local office HR staff to enable them to organize transfers for both Expatriates and Foreign Local Hires. Job Summary:
As the Global Mobility Regional Specialist, you will manage and administer Sandvik's global mobility programs within the USA.
Additionally, the Global Mobility Regional Specialist will:
Implement Sandvik's Global Mobility strategy and philosophy to support the business strategy with an objective of compliance and operational efficiency
Serve as the main point of contact for vendors relationships to ensure delivery of quality benefits and services
Ensure compliance with current legislation/regulations and monitor legislative and law changes; updating plans and plan documents as needed
Provide consultation and advice to the global business and HR teams on aspects of the assignment process. Provide relevant and regular briefings and guidance to various stakeholder groups (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Legal, Payroll, Government Relations, Compensation & Benefits, and Management) where necessary to ensure awareness and compliance
Administer US Resident/Green Card processing activities such as job descriptions, postings and advertisements, educating managers and employees regarding the process as appropriate
Maintain work authorization, including I-9 forms, for nonimmigrant workers
Manage procurement and invoicing processes and tracking for immigration spend
Work a core hours schedule each day while also participating in global calls as needed, including early or late hours to accommodate different time zones
Working in partnership with the local office HR staff and Global Talent Managers in respect of assignment initiations, review and approval of assignment documentation and financial arrangements
Ensure that high quality support is provided to Partners and employees moving internationally on assignment, acting on feedback where required
Be the global point of contact and escalation for internal service delivery issues, and take responsibility for co-ordination of global process consistency and continuous improvement
Provide business updates to key stakeholders
Job Profile:
Bachelor degree qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline(s)
Five+ years of previous experience as a Global Mobility specialist or manager (professional services experience advantageous)
Expert knowledge of global mobility processes including, experience with immigration/visa is essential
Knowledge of requirements, roles and responsibilities of local office staff, finance methodology, relocation advice, and a sound grasp of what makes mobility programs successful for all stakeholders
General knowledge of Expat Tax and salary/payroll related issues.
Strong internal client service focus
Strong external vendor relationship management skills, including ability to co-ordinate local requirements as part of global vendor agreements, monitoring and auditing performance and compliance
Self-motivated and self-managing with ability to prioritize workloads
Strong planning and organizational ability
Team player with excellent communication skills. Should be able to reach out to Manager and key stakeholders before asked.
Strong customer focus with good commercial awareness and relationship management skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and fluid global business environment.
