The UX/UI Designer works closely with the Design Manager, Design Leads, Design Research team and members of the design and product teams to analyze and understand the needs of the target users and how they perform tasks to create an imaginative, unique, and innovative user-centric solutions to support our products and services in the energy field.
This role will look at the big picture and understand what problem needs to be solved by collaborating with our research and product teams to create elegant solutions. This person is a skilled quick thinker with meticulous problem-solving skills who knows how to balance independent work with team collaboration.

May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with the creative leads, design, and research team members to sketch and iterate on new and complex user experience interaction.
- Analyze the needs and behaviors of target users and understand business and end-user requirements for improving user-interaction and application adoption.
- Create value-centered solutions by balancing the needs of users with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- Create journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate your design to the rest of the team.
- Envision and develop intuitive, scalable, and engaging interactions and experience designs for multiple platforms.
- Work with our in-house User Research department in testing of concepts features and incorporate user feedback into design iterations.
- Conceptualize and champion the importance of user-centered design.
- Advocate on behalf of the user through design thinking and utilizing research findings.
- Apply keen attention to detail throughout each step of the creative process.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related work experience OR 5 years of related work experience
- Impressive portfolio that highlights design process and strong grasp of visual or interface designer
- Familiar with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Sketch, Axure, Invision) and methodologies
- You have experience with rapid prototyping and visualization
- You have proficiency in using style guides and working with design systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fast-changing business organizations
- Experience using dashboard / graphical user interface design tools
- Familiar with UX design methodologies
- Experience working in an Agile environment, with cross-functional teams
- Strong relationship management skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks
- Highly self-motivated with attention to detail
