Job Summary

Summary:

The Microbiology Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for a variety of clinical and clerical functions to support the day-to-day operation of the Microbiology Laboratory. Clinical duties include specimen verification and processing, planting cultures, loading blood culture bottles, and sample tracking including the cancellation and crediting of laboratory tests. Clerical duties include phone reception, printing reports, operation of office equipment such as fax machines and printers, in addition to basic computer skills in the laboratory information system.
