RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

RiverView Recovery Center has a full-time (80-hours per pay period) opening for a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LADC), who will work mainly work in our East Grand Forks and Crookston offices, however some travel to the Thief River Falls office is required. Counselor will be responsible for a range of clinical services, including, but not limited to: Facilitation of Group Therapy; Facilitation of Individual Therapy; Chemical Health Assessments (Comprehensive Assessment); Crisis Management; Family Counseling and Case Management. The Counselor's home office can be located in Crookston or East Grand Forks.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bacheor's Degree in Chemical Dependency or equivalent degree (Social Work with an emphasis in Addiction Studies).
- If the candidate has a Substance Use Disorder, the candidate must be free from chemical use problems for 2 years.
- Candidate must possess or be qualified to receive licensure from the Board of Behavioral Health Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). Maintaining a current license in the state of Minnesota to provide direct clinical services with the renewal occurring bi-annually.
- Preferred candidate will have current American Heart CPR and First Aid Certifications. If not current training will be provided and certifications must be obtained within the first 4 months of employment.
- Must have completed a minimum 12-hour training in co-occurring disorders with proof of certification. Or, is willing to complete this training within the first six months of employment (MN Statute 245G.13).
- Preferred candidate will have completed and have proof of completion of Trauma Informed Care. Or, is willing to complete this training within the first six months of employment.
