Landscape Architect - Project Manager Job at RK&K

As a Project Manager / Landscape Architect at RK&K you will work mostly from our beautiful Baltimore, MD office / studio and will coordinate with other offices throughout the firm. To be successful in this role you will need to be willing and able to switch hit as an architect and designer on a variety of projects from roadway planting plans , site development design , park site development , complete street concepts and design , urban design , corridor studies , trail master plans , bicycle and pedestrian plans and graphics support
Essential Functions
Manage and Lead active projects , task orders and multi-disciplinary teams while contributing to the development of new business initiatives and acting as an expert in Landscape Architecture
Responsible for the planning , scheduling , conducting and coordinating of technical aspects of active transportation projects to include by not limited to: bike/ped , highway , mini plaza , complete streets , multi-modal , vision zero
Write, review and approve project specs and QA/QC technical drawings
Review and approve site studies and reports, master plans, streetscape concepts, planting Plans
Provide expert advice and direction for permitting in multiple counties throughout Maryland
Communicate Clearly and Effectively at Public Input Events
Develop landscape concepts
Prepare Construction Cost Estimates
Craft Compelling Graphics (Page Layout, Sections, Photo simulations, Plan Renderings) as needed
Coordinate with GIS Team to Craft Compelling Maps and Diagrams as needed
Coach and mentor Jr. to Sr. level staff to elevate their performance and expand their capabilities
Required Experience and Certifications:
10+ years of experience performing landscape architecture for healthy communities and active transportation projects for Federal, State, County, Municipal projects in Maryland and surrounding States. This in not residential work.
Must be a registered Landscape Architect ( RLA )
Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Experience and knowledge of Maryland (and surrounding state) guidelines for approved plant species, stormwater design and ROW
Excellent Writing and oral communication skills
Must have a portfolio and/or work samples
Ability to work hand in hand with a multi-disciplinary team and engage with the public
Active in local agencies and organizations
Familiarity with bicycle, pedestrian, and trail design guidelines and best practices
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters degree in Landscape Architecture
Familiarity with way finding
Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit or other 3D modeling software
Proficiency with Lumion or other rendering software
