Our client is an established Design/Build company that creates and enhances outdoor living areas. Based in Wilmington NC, the company has seen an increase in demand for their services and have invested in internal systems and support in order to create a smooth client experience.
Position Summary
The Sales Designer position will be responsible for following up on leads with residential clients who are interested to make improvements to their outdoor living space. This individual will meet with potential clients, define the scope of work, budgets and timelines, will produce designs and close the opportunity with a signed contract. Once the client has signed the agreement to engage the company, this position will transition the project to the fulfillment team and will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the project via weekly inspections. This position is responsible for selling the construction services which includes landscape, drainage, hardscape, pools, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, irrigation, lighting and other outdoor living features.
The goal is for this individual to sell $1mm to $1.5mm per year in projects. Projects range from $50k to $250k
Responsibilities:
Following up on leads generated by the company to qualify the opportunity
Establish rapport with the client in order to generate a positive relationship
Assist client in defining their goals of the project
Assist client with defining the budget for the project
Propose designs for the client to evaluate in order to come to an agreement on the scope
Create the estimate and contract in order to come to an agreement with the client
Work with internal resources to meet timelines as it relates to the proposal and designs
Manage the pipeline of potential clients and keep track as to where they are in the sales process
Transition the project to the Fulfillment team who will be in charge of building the project
Inspect the projects through the construction cycle and handle any large change orders that can materially affect the original scope of the project.
Qualifications:
The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:
- Degree in Landscape Design or Architecture
- 5+ years of experience sales and design of outdoor solutions;
- Experience working on Sketch Up or other design software
- Broad knowledge of horticulture and landscape design and construction;
- Proficient at writing estimates and proposals
- Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record;
- Adaptable with a strong sense of urgency;
- Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner;
- Ability to develop scope of work and budgets via sourcing materials
- Ability to manage a pipeline and close on opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, spoken and written, internally and externally;
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
