General Manager – Organics/Composting Division

Position Overview:

The General Manager – Organics/Composting Division – Yuma, Arizona will manage all activities, sales, and personnel for the Southwest region. The Manager will perform, and oversee, the operation of heavy equipment, including shredders/grinders (electric and diesel), conveyors, trommel screens, and windrow turners. Responsibilities also include managing technical compliance issues with city, state, and federal regulators, and being knowledgeable of current organics testing protocols to comply with requisite certifications and CA Title 14. The incumbent will also manage the sales of organic products to landscapers, wholesalers, retailers, farmers, nurseries, and governmental agencies.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee operations, maintenance, and transportation for the division to achieve performance and production standards.
• Manage marketing and sales of various organic products, such as wood chips, mulch, compost and liquid fertilizer.
• Manages daily processes by monitoring and reporting the status of key services, safety, and equipment.
• Ensure divisional compliance with all OSHA, DOT, city, state, county, and federal regulations and contract requirements.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Engineering - Preferred
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in the organics/composting industry – Required
• 5+ years of heavy equipment operation experience - Required
• 3+ years of experience in organics sales and marketing – Required
• 3+ year of compliance management in the organics/composting industry - Required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office platforms
• Bilingual English/Spanish - Preferred
