IMC MetalsAmerica is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to be part of a growing organization. This position will directly support day to day activities in both maintenance and operations. Opportunity for growth and advancement in a critical market.

What will be expected from you?

  • Ability to work both independently and under supervision and lead a safety conscious environment.
  • Establish an organizational capability for executing work in the most cost-effective way.
  • Project Management of improvement and investment projects.
  • Support inventory management programs
  • Perform quality assurance assessments of inventory
  • Assist with troubleshooting of operational issues
  • Provides guidance and support to operational management by identifying improvement opportunities helping to manage the annual plan and progress plan
  • Work directly with Maintenance and Process Specialists to develop root cause failure analysis of operating and reliability problems, develop and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facility, making recommendations, and working with the operational management to integrate solutions
  • Assist with training & development of operators
  • Provide engineering assistance to the maintenance staff and management
  • Provide engineering drawings and direction for the performance of day-to-day maintenance activities as required
  • Implement spare parts strategies and assist maintenance in ensuring parts are available for planned outages and breakdowns
  • Initiate, write, gain approval, implement and close reliability / process improvement projects to meet plant goals
  • Track, implement and close action items
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement action items
  • Initiate improvement project’s to positively impact asset performance
  • Work effectively across all levels of the organization to meet deadlines in short timeframes
  • Analyze costs, downtime and interruption data to build and maintain charts and graphs to improve the plants availability and cost effectiveness

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools, preferably Solid works
  • Command of Microsoft Excel
  • Creativity and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Technical writing skills
