Norton Staffing & Recruiting is a temporary staffing agency based in Massachusetts. We have been providing staffing services for over 30 years and we have had great success with helping schools fill many of their vacancies. Our Education Team is looking to hire experienced Paraprofessionals to work at a Middle School in Wilmington, MA for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year with a possibility to continue next school year. The ideal candidate would work to achieve the school district's mission to educate and develop students academically, socially and emotionally to be active, civic-minded contributors to our global society by providing student-centered instruction, fostering the well-being of each child, and promoting an inclusive and collaborative school community and culture.

**Please note that we are a temporary staffing agency, so there are no benefits other than accrued sick time, but there is a possibility for the school district to hire directly temporary to permanent, in which case the school could then offer you their own benefits package. Schools can choose to discontinue working with our staff at any time.**

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Work within various different settings such as classroom, group or 1:1
• Assist teachers with the implementation of lessons and any daily activities
• Working with students on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Data collection based on the needs of the students or programs
• Maintaining of any records based on the needs of the student and school
• Effectively communicate with the students using their required method of communication
• Preparing the classroom for the students and teacher
• Remain engaged with students to ensure they are effectively learning
• Supervising students both inside and outside of the classroom
• Supporting students physical, emotional, personal and academic needs
• Clerical responsibilities such as photocopying, filing, taking attendance and maintaining records
• Track students educational and personal progress
• Partake in partial or full lesson planning
• Assist with extracurricular activities
• Provide reinforcement to students based on their needs or based on IEP if applicable

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of High School diploma or GED, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 1 year of previous experience working in school setting
• Strongly preferred background working with Middle School aged (11-14 y/o)
• Massachusetts Paraprofessional Certification a plus
• CPR/AED/BLS certifications a plus
• Willing to take CORI Screening and fingerprints
• Able to move swiftly and lift 40-50 lbs as needed
• Knowledge or familiarity of IEPs
• Passionate about children and set a positive example
