Summary

The Process Operator is responsible for operating Zinc Sulfate Spray Dryer.

Job Duties

• Operates Spray Dryer equipment including pumps, cyclones, blowers, burner, atomizer, and scrubber.
• Packages out products.
• Maintains proper liquid feedstock inventories to feed spray dryer depending on product requirements.
• Performs preventative maintenance as defined by Plant Preventative Maintenance Engineer.
• Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
• Reports any unsafe work conditions to Shift Supervisor.
• Reports any spills or released material to ground or air to Shift Supervisor.
• Fills out operational reports including necessary compliance monitoring.

Skills and requirements

· High School Diploma/GED required.

· 2+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical industry.

· Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 70lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

· Must be self-starting/self-motivated and able to work independently.

· Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.

· Work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull >50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

· Ability to become forklift certified.

· Be able to work in work in hot and cold conditions depending on the weather.

· Observe company policies, rules and regulations, i.e. conform to safe work practices; adhere to proper manufacturing protocols; meet customer specifications and quality requirements.

Work conditions

· 24/7 availability may be required.

· Ability to work in extreme weather and dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures

· Ability to work overtime hours as needed

· Exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

· May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db and above

· Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

· Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.14 per hour
