Plant Controller - Elk Grove Village (Hybrid) Job at Richelieu Foods, Inc.
Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller who is comfortable driving transformation while reinforcing a culture of support and development. The Plant Controller will report directly to the Richelieu Finance Director with significant exposure to the Richelieu Senior Leadership Team.
Plant Controller will function as partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the local business. Leads the financial staff at the plant and is accountable for plant-level responsibilities including monitoring and analyzing variances versus budget and proposing corrective action or alternatives to minimize future variances.
Essential Functions
- Assist Finance Director, Manufacturing of preparation, and analysis of all plant manufacturing budgets for direct labor, material yields, operating outputs, and departmental spending.
- Review of weekly, period end operational performance reports with comments and recommendations for corrective action. (KPI's)
- Responsible for EGV plant month end close, assists plant manager in the monthly presentation of operating results to senior management.
- Identifies opportunities to drive cost reduction across all factory and product cost pools (materials, labor, variable & fixed expenses, capital, and inventory).
- Verify the accuracy of the value of inventory each month and monitor the adjustment being made to the inventory.
- Maintains proper internal controls over all factory assets, including raw materials, supplies, machine parts, capital equipment, petty cash and any checks issued for the aforementioned items.
- Provides guidance in the use and maintenance of JustFoods ERP.
- Responsible for the proper application of the internal control and accounting practices and policies in the factory and supporting warehouses.
- Attend all company sponsored training and informational meetings when scheduled.
- Assist with duties and tasks as assigned to the HR Generalist by the Senior Director of Human Resources.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Strong background in finance, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Tax and Public company experience is a plus.
- Fact-driven and analytical problem-solver with superior judgement; an instinct for accuracy, precision, and details.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and be adaptable and resourceful, with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Possess drive, passion, energy and the highest level of integrity and ethics.
- Must be a “doer” who possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with an ability to listen as well as explain complex issues crisply and concisely.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to deliver to deadlines with strong follow-up skills, problem resolution, and strategic thinking.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to changing situations despite deadlines and pressure.
- Ability to travel 10%.
Education/Certification
- BA in Financial Accounting is preferred or 7 or more years of accounting experience with a minimum of two years of experience working as a Plant Controller.
Experience
- Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Experience working with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Completion of Company pre-employment screenings.
- Ability to lift boxes of up to 40 lbs.
- Experience in high volume, high growth food manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with inventory management preferred.
