The Project Manager position is a long-term contract position working for an oil & gas client in the Houston area. This position will be located in the Atlanta, GA area.

The Project Manager role is responsible for providing project management services for pipeline, station, and terminal projects throughout the client's South Region.

Project Manager Responsibilities
  • Completing development of project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements as part of the initiation and planning phases of the project life cycle
  • Managing implementation (project design, engineering, purchasing/contracting, construction, startup and commissioning, and closing) of projects in the petroleum industry and developing current reports regarding Project Status and Cost Forecasting
  • Evaluating and obtaining approval of changes to project scopes of work, budgets, and/or schedules and completing all required documentation of changes
  • Lead or facilitate meetings and ensure, as appropriate, that minutes are documented and distributed
  • Plan and organize system and facility downtime, startup and commissioning with Operations, Transportation, the Control Center, and other Functional Departments
  • Manage multiple contractors and project inspectors
  • Ensuring development of Construction and Operational Punch Lists and completion of all outstanding items and ensure completion of project documentation such as “as-built” drawings, operating manuals, PMs, equipment tagging, device settings, and Completion Certificates

Types of Projects include:
  • Marine work (dock refurbishment, dolphin replacement, bollard repair, etc.)
  • Pipeline work (tool runs, hydrotest, pipeline repair, digs, leak detection, etc.)
  • Terminal/facility work (pump repair, piping replacement, painting, dike wall repair, etc.)

Project Manager Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • PM Certification from Project Management Institute preferred.
  • 5-15 years of project management experience in the oil & gas industry required.
  • Project manager experience with pipeline, station, and terminal projects strongly desired.
  • Basic knowledge of Primavera Software desired.
  • PM Certification from Project Management Institute is desirable.
  • Travel will be approximately 30%.
  • Candidates must be located within daily commuting distance of Atlanta, GA.
