With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stoney Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

You will provide psychiatric assessment and treatments for Berkeley Community Mental Health Center's patients in our forensic program. The BCMHC Forensic Services Program coordinates with multiple criminal justice system components in Berkeley County to address the mental health needs of adults involved with the criminal justice system. While criminal justice and mental health collaboration has experienced successful outcomes, there continue to be barriers. The Mental Health Jail Team collaboration address these barriers by allowing individuals to receive mental health services while in jail, providing immediate access to crisis intervention, and planning for the continuum of care upon release into the community. Release from jail without adequate treatment and resources can lead to homelessness and recidivism.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Special Requirements: Licensed to practice medicine in SC. Completion of required residency in psychiatry. Board certification in psychiatry is strongly preferred and is required for certified classes. Valid Driver's License.

Agency Requirements: This position requires at least 12 hours minimum a week.
