Quality & Food Safety Specialist Job at United Cocoa Processor
The Quality and Food Safety specialist will oversee and maintain portions of the quality management system and coordinate the testing and release of raw materials, bulk intermediate, and finished products. This position is responsible for initiating action and communicating to senior management any quality and food safety related issues.
- Coach Laboratory Technicians on quality and food safety standards; instruct staff to perform necessary procedures to meet customer specifications.
Ø This will include cross training and having an understanding laboratory practices, testing and sampling in the production/warehouse area.
- Identify, document, and segregate (where applicable) nonconforming products and coordinate usage of rework.
- Monitor performance of quality control systems and staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency and ensure that SSOPs, regulatory requirements of GMPs and HACCP plans are met.
- Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors as required.
- Coordinate with 3rdparty labs and quality related contract service providers.
- Monitor the shipping of finished goods for external QC testing and customer sample requests.
- Assist in conducting investigations for customer complaints or internal CAPAs
- Communicate to purchasing when to purchase supplies and materials according to QC requirements.
- Keep detailed records and monitor trending of test results.
- Review of production records and release finished product based on regulatory and customer requirements.
- Analyze operational problems, identifies solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement, planning and food safety meetings.
Assist Quality Control Manager with other duties as required
