Responsibility Summary/Job Description
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader that provides guidance, facilitation, and coaching to the Agile Release Train using a Lean-Agile mindset. They are the one who facilitate ART Level processes and execution, escalate impediments, manage risks and help drive program level continuous improvement.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART.
- Must have a True Understanding of Agile Philosophy and the goal of the Agile Philosophy.
- Contribute to the advancement and improvement of agile practices within the ART.
- Coach Scrum Masters to increase their teams’ understanding of Agile principles.
- Facilitate PI Planning events and readiness.
- Aggregate Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives.
- Assist with execution and completion tracking.
- Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies (SOS, ART Sync, PO Sync, IP activities, program backlog refinement, etc.).
- Work with the PACE and Digital Delivery Services (DDS) on Program Execution and Operational Excellence.
- Establish Meeting Cadences and Communications for PI Planning.
- Synchronize and coordinate across ARTs.
- Attend and participate in Portfolio ceremonies as needed.
- Document and monitor ART working agreements to drive consistencies across product teams.
- Escalate and track impediments.
- Ensure strategy and execution alignment with ART and portfolio.
- Help manage risks and dependencies.
- Facilitate and orchestrate System and Program Demos.
- Drive continuous improvement and continuous integration with the use of data.
- Foster Communities of Practices
- Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
- Encourage collaboration between the teams and architects
- Create ART improvement plans.
- Assist with Epic estimation, where necessary.
- Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
- Monitor and track ART metrics and share with the Portfolio, leading them to adjust process as needed.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
- Agile certifications highly preferred.
- SAFe RTE certification required
- Experience delivering software via agile at scale (programs, product management, etc.)
- Collaboration skills and the ability to influence
- Release Train Engineer and SAFe experience a plus
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of IS technologies and practices
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycles (Agile, DevOps, Scrum, Kanban,etc.)
- Experience using Jira, Clarity, HP ALM (QC), or similar tools.
- Leadership and management experience preferred.
- Excellent people and product management skills.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in use of Zoom, Microsoft, etc
- Stable Internet Connection within work environment.
- During Video Meetings (Zoom, Teams, etc) camera needs to be on.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: Remote
