The Director of Health & Safety, at Accurate Personnel, leads the organization and ensures that all safety policies and procedures are being met and communicated out. This role focuses heavily on developing risk-prevention methods to help reduce injuries seen at our client-employer sites. In addition to that large responsibility, the Director of Health & Safety also oversees the processing and investigation of all Workers Compensation claims. Both angles need to be looked at from this position to identify and improve any areas that we can and communicate these to the branch offices. In developing prevention methods and compliance improvements, the Director of Health & Safety should make Accurate a safer place to work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicates with team, peers and leadership on safety initiatives and injury claims
  • Drives team to success by supporting their needs at any level
  • Set reasonable expectations and goals
  • Uses tact and strategy to communicate department ambitions to all stakeholders
  • Encourages each individual in the department to take pride in their jobs using positive specific feedback
  • Models behaviors of senior leadership with integrity
  • Serves as the intermediary between department, leadership and clients
  • Develops safety Standard Operating Procedures to provide set guidelines to be followed
  • Facilitates OSHA, internal and client safety trainings when needed
  • Approves all new clients’ site evaluations to maintain a high level of safety standards
  • Improving the productivity of the organization’s employees by effectively developing, coordinating and presenting the training and development programs company-wide
  • Assessing developmental needs of each staff member to drive training initiatives as well as identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees
  • Exemplifying the desired culture and philosophies of the organization by actively searching, creatively designing and implementing effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and recognize success
  • Developing trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities
  • Conducting follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Modifying programs as needed
  • Conducting compliance audits and follow up studies to evaluate and measure results
  • Developing and maintaining company communications such as Corporate email and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of events and general information
  • Developing and monitoring spending against each branch/department budget

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years experience within the staffing industry, preferably with upper management experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of professionals
  • Skills necessary to negotiate pricing structures and agreements with clients
  • Ability to manage current clients to maximize temporary usage
  • An aptitude for foreseeing client’s needs to ensure prepared candidate pool
  • Established skills in recruiting, interviewing, and managing personnel according to state and federal employment law
  • An ability to interview, hire, and train all in-house personnel according to Accurate Personnel policy
  • Willingness to perform frequent client visits and other networking functions
  • Excellent time management skills and be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and enjoy problem solving
