Electrical Contractor seeks a high-level Accountant with construction industry experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. Room for advancement!!!

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank reconciliation
• Prepare documentation for external auditors
• Monitor Accounts Receivable/collections
• Asset Management process and reporting
• Daily bank deposits and cash application
• Record/reconcile/collect credit card receipts for company VISA
• Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed
• Record/reconcile equipment and vehicle lease payments
• Assist Controller with month-end closing process
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. An Associates degree in Accounting may be considered with the right experience.
• 5-10 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
• Construction accounting software a must
• Construction experience a plus
• Extensive experience with Balance sheet reconciliations
• Job costing experience and MBE reporting preferred
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Multi-state payroll with prevailing wage requirements a must
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  
• Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
• Efficient/accurate data entry
• Able to work in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to maintain confidential information
  
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented
