Senior Accountant Job at Lighting Maintenance Inc
Electrical Contractor seeks a high-level Accountant with construction industry experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. Room for advancement!!!
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Monitor Accounts Receivable/collections
- Asset Management process and reporting
- Daily bank deposits and cash application
- Record/reconcile/collect credit card receipts for company VISA
- Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed
- Record/reconcile equipment and vehicle lease payments
- Assist Controller with month-end closing process
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. An Associates degree in Accounting may be considered with the right experience.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
- Construction accounting software a must
- Construction experience a plus
- Extensive experience with Balance sheet reconciliations
- Job costing experience and MBE reporting preferred
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Multi-state payroll with prevailing wage requirements a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
- Efficient/accurate data entry
- Able to work in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to maintain confidential information
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Deadline and detail-oriented
