About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Accounting will lead a high performing team in a fast-paced, growing organization. This position will be responsible for all areas of accounting including corporate accounting, accounts payable and receivable, inventory accounting, financial statement preparation and maintaining internal controls in a US GAAP environment. The Senior Manager, Accounting will report to the Controller.

  • Manage and lead corporate accounting professionals; provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching
  • Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and flux analysis for monthly/quarterly leadership reporting
  • Partner with the Controller to lead all day-to-day accounting operations including functional responsibility over accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, inventory, and cash management
  • Assist in building a high performing Accounting organization, quickly assessing key team members and critical talent gaps
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to drive operational efficiencies
  • Ensure consistent implementation of accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements
  • Maintain SOX compliance in close collaboration with Internal Audit and actively participate in design and operating effectiveness process improvements
  • Support the Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting function in preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K
  • Liaise with areas of the Olaplex business outside of Finance to ensure appropriate accounting for, but not limited to, inventory (including counts and reconciliation of contract manufacturing and third party logistics partner activity), sales, R&D
  • Serves as a key point of contact, along with the Controller, in external audits
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
  • May participate in rotational roles within the accounting department

About You:

  • 8+ years experience in increasing accounting responsibilities, including 4+ years leading direct reports; preferably in a corporate setting. Leading remotely is a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and CPA is required
  • US SEC public company experience preferably in consumer packaged goods, retail or related industry with inventory
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP (especially ASC 606 and 330) and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required
  • Experience with Netsuite ERP is a plus
  • Must demonstrate an ability to build strong cross-functional relationships; providing subject matter expertise to effectively communicate and influence non-technical accounting business partners
  • Must be very organized, detail oriented and able to work under tight timelines
  • Ability to work extended schedules around key reporting deadlines: monthly, quarterly, year-end and bi-annual board meetings
  • Familiarity with Ecommerce, Direct-to-consumer, B2B business models, preferred
  • Ability to work independently and team when appropriate
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate conflicts to affected parties
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
