THE POSITION*
Position Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining timely, accurate financial records and performing financial analysis. The position will assume ownership of inventory, corporate accrual and prepaid journal entries, and payroll-related account reconciliations, financial closing activities and other analysis to support and execute our financial close process. The candidate for the Staff Accountant Position must have a clear understanding of accounting guidance as it relates to inventory, accruals, and prepaids.

Organizational Structure*
The Staff Accountant reports to the Senior Accountant – Inventory.

Responsibilities*
- Manage journal entry process and account reconciliations for inventory, accruals, prepaids and payroll-related areas
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs to inventory as required by GAAP and in accordance with Company methodology
- Generate reporting and analysis for inventory costing
- Maintain analysis related to inventory obsolescence
- Work with business partners to ensure accurate and timely recognition of packaging and shipping costs
- Coordinate with FP&A team and related business partners to ensure corporate expense accruals are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Use analysis and research to ensure prepaid balances and related amortization expense is recorded properly and within established company guidelines
- Align with Payroll team to ensure payroll files are complete and accurate and able to be posted to general ledger
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies
- Participate in activities associated with periodic audits and reviews
- Support various internal controls activities and the implementation of Sarbanes - Oxley 404 compliance requirements

Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of public accounting or 2-3 years industry experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures related to inventory, accruals and prepaids
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform critical analysis and thinking, prioritize and problem solve
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive individual who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing environment
- Desire to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
- Work effectively within the department and across departments
- Fashion industry background is a plus

Compensation*
The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive compensation package which may include short and/or long term incentives, clothing allowance, and merchandise discount, in addition to base salary and full health and welfare benefits.
