We are looking for a talented Tech Support Engineer with an interest in being a part of the emerging Metaverse to create and support the next generation of immersive experiences for Fidelity and our Customers. You’ll create and support compelling 3D experiences and assets using state-of-the-art 3D tools.
The Team
Within FCAT, as part of our Emerging Technology Incubator team, you will join the mission to:
Monitor the long-term strategic outlook through outside-in research and ecosystem engagement
Test new capabilities and products
Repackage existing apps for new VR platforms
Educate and Consult with associates and clients
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required
- Experience in Production Support and/or Analysis with ability to work across geographic locations, providing resolution to incidents
- Confirmed skills in root cause analysis of incidents
- Familiarity with Game Engines (Unity, Unreal), WebXR, and other libraries that support immersive experiences
- Experience with macOS and Windows operating systems
- Experience with programming languages like JavaScript, C#, iOS and Android app development and support is a plus
- Ability to rapidly pick up new concepts and programming libraries
- Knowledge of web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.) with integrating with APIs and RESTful web services
- Experience with usage tracking (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Technical design and analysis skills and work in fast-paced environment
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and standard methodologies
- Communication and collaboration skills; both written and verbal
- Work with technical partners on incidents and collaborate with development teams for resolution to build partnerships As a member of the FCAT Emerging Technology Incubator, you will work with the team to build, test, deploy, and support proof of concept experiments by
- Providing engineering support for a broad array of immersive applications
- Resolving technical roadblocks and mitigate potential risks
- Supporting user onboarding and device management for metaverse experiences
- Creating and executing test plans and release notes to ensure compatibility within the application deployment ecosystem
- Helping other teams access and explore metaverse experiences execute on business unit consulting requests
- Creating metrics and reporting around various areas including, but not limited to, application performance & monitoring, incident, and problem management,
- Writing knowledge articles to create the support infrastructure for the immersive capabilities
- Providing cross-training to the team on technology approaches
- Providing onsite event support to show how to use the immersive experiences and gather feedback
- Exploring new metaverse hardware and software technologies for use by the firm
- You will also share your learnings throughout the company through written summaries, videos, demos, and live presentations.
