Teen Coordinator - West End (Ventura) Job at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura
_GENERAL FUNCTION
_The Teen Center Coordinator shall be responsible for implementing strategies that will provide the Club with broad based educational enrichment, social and leadership programs and opportunities supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura’s commitment to teens. The Teen Center Coordinator reports directly to the Branch Director.
SKILLS
· Demonstrated ability in planning, initiating and interpreting activities, programs and services based on the developmental needs of teens.
· Must possess organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have the ability to put together requested information for proposals, reports, pamphlets, and booklets.
· Must be creative in motivating teens to participate in educational, social and leadership programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
. Must have a California Driver License (with a clean driving record)
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
· Willing to attain First Aid/CPR Certification. Administer First Aid/CPR when necessary. (Training to be the responsibility of the Boys & Girls Club.)
JOB SEGMENTS
1. Supervise volunteers who work in the Teen Center as tutors, computer aides or mentors to individual teens.
2. Plan, direct and supervise all programs that relate to the educational growth and skill development of our teens. This includes job, leadership and life skills development. This also includes implementation of Project Learn.
3. Promote educational activities and programs through flyers and bulletin boards.
4. Responsible for recruitment and implementation of Leaders in Training program.
5. Submit all necessary program information for inclusion in quarterly activities calendar, website, grants or other administrative reports as requested by the Branch Director by requested due dates.
6. Responsible for inspecting program area and submitting maintenance requests as needed in order to assure that the program area is safe and in order. Responsible for the overall cleanliness, safety and neatness of the Teen Center.
7. Submit requisitions for needed program supplies following Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura’s proper procedures.
8. Attain CPR/First Aid Certification. Administer First Aid/CPR when necessary.
9. Assist with all Club-wide special teen events when requested.
10. Be trained in and able to safely transport club members in approved club vehicles.
11. Perform all other duties as deemed necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must have the physical skills abilities for the working conditions that are required to perform the essential duties of this position, as required by the American with Disabilities Act. The physical skills might include sitting or standing for long periods of time, walking and carrying or lifting items up to 40 pounds at one time, squatting, bending over, twisting, or repetitive motions. These activities might be in addition to other physical skills that are needed to complete the job description.
