The Training Coordinator position plays an important role in this process and in the success of the company by influencing, developing and coaching our team members. The Training department is launching multiple exciting initiatives and needs a creative, talented and committed individual to ensure success. This is a role for someone who loves to create content, affect positive skill development in a fast-paced culture, is willing to do what it takes to fulfill the mission, and is hyper-organized and detail-oriented.
SKILLS & CRITICAL TASKS
- Schedules training and organizes training events
- Works with Human Resources and Health, Safety & Environment departments to manage new hire orientation
- Develops training video content
- Utilizes company doctrine to develop training scripts and storyboards
- Builds training presentations and lesson plans
- Tracks and analyzes trends in training performance
- Measures instructional effectiveness and generate summative evaluation reports with the goal of defining the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
- Uploads training assets into the learning management system
- Works with the leadership team to identify training needs
- Develops, edits, and enters forms/, programs and doctrine onto a variety of platforms that support the learning management system, safety management, and competency management programs
- Designs and develops interactive training programs (outsourced or in-house), educational aids and materials for corporate, compliance, and other training
- Actively researches curriculum needs and remains up to date on developments within the industry and competitors
- Gathers information from management, employees and other departments regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seeks improvement
- Creates instructional materials, printed or otherwise, to be used in training
- Understands and utilizes current training methods and best practices to facilitate employee training
- Schedules and conducts meetings with management to proactively identify topics to be addressed or areas in need of additional instruction
- Markets training opportunities to employees in an engaging and compelling way that provides all necessary information and entices participation
- Selects the best training methods or activities for a particular purpose and audience (e.g. role-playing, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.).
- Sees the big picture and conduct whole organization needs assessments, identifying skills or knowledge gaps that need addressing
- Facilitates train-the-trainer sessions for in-house experts/trainers
- Oversees and maintains in-house training facilities and necessary equipment
- Develops strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service
- Advises and counsels Field Leaders on training needs and goals
- Provides full-scope training materials, from analyzing company needs to lesson planning, development and implementation
- Displays knowledge of best practices in creating instructional materials
- Creates yearly training plans and materials for all departments
- Demonstrates ability to use instructional systems and design techniques
- Knowledgeable about learning management systems and e-learning platforms
- Excellent time management, public speaking, problem-solving and ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
- Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers
- Extremely organized, able to plan out process improvement plans and monitor adherence to company-defined requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Practices a high level of confidentiality and data protection
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize work
- Team player who takes initiative, strives for continuous improvement, able to think and act independently, challenges positively, and can counsel and provide advice to employees and managers.
- Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, iScout, Paylocity TMS system, presentation software along with cloud-based applications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years experience in training roles
- Background in adult education, instruction, curriculum development and public speaking
- Oilfield or industrial experience preferred
- Spanish language skills preferred
- Clean driving record and ability to provide proof of the right to work in the United States required
