The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Cultural Campus (POKC) seeks a Vice President, Information Technology to serve as a change agent, visionary, and leader of all technology/information services activities for the organization.
As POKC strives to become a data-driven, knowledge-enabled organization, technology efficiency and innovation are critical to our success in meeting these challenges. The Vice President, Information Technology will partner with the Executive Director, Chief Marketing and Audience Experience Officer, Executive Vice President and CFO, Chief People and Culture Officer, Chief Operations and Facilities Officer, and VP of Ticket Philadelphia to support POKC’s continued evolution; taking a holistic view of the environment to reimagine how the organization leverages technology to create efficiencies, enable scale and differentiate POKC’s ability to engage and support their artists, audiences and staff while also supporting the marketing and transactional website strategy by distributing developer and QA resources. This will involve the implementation and optimization of technology capabilities and practices that deliver modern and innovative technology services across POKC's diverse programs and offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Leadership:

- Provide the overall vision and leadership for POKC's technology road map, while ensuring its full integration into the business, campus, programmatic, and operational strategy.
- Lead, motivate and mentor direct reports and promote an inclusive and positive work environment.
- Build and cross-train technology team to establish bench strength, create professional development opportunities, and minimize dependency of keypersons on critical systems and platforms through cross-training.
- Develop and articulate the technology vision around major IT (Information Technology) decisions such as migration to cloud, strategic outsourcing, open source, etc. Serve as an effective change agent by building partnership and consensus across the organization to support these transformational changes that impact not only IT but the broader organization.
- Anticipate opportunities to leverage technology to solve problems in partnership with stakeholders.
- As POKC's revenue model evolves - provide support to the Executive Vice President and CFO and Chief Marketing and Audience Experience Officer on potential impacts to the technology ecosystem.
- Direct and approve design of all technology, policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and ensure that they are accessible, well planned, thoroughly tested, and effective.
- Oversee and monitor POKC's technology budget, including capital projects, and ensure strategic allocation of funds.
- Develop knowledge management infrastructure and implement staff training, best practices and other guidance that ensure common use, strong security, and business continuity.
Business Application Support:
- Create and manage a road map for enterprise infrastructure.
- Define and implement organizational standards for business applications that manage cost, create efficiency, ensure data security, and conform current best practices.
- Partner with divisions for technical requirement gathering, review, purchase, implementation, and staff training of all software systems including but not limited to accounting, procurement, event management, operations, HR, communications, customer data platform and ticketing.
- Provide and support technical infrastructure required for critical business applications.
- Assess and improve POKC's workplace technology capability to better enable their remote workforce.
- Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships.
- Negotiate advantageous agreements with service providers and hardware/software vendors to achieve desired service levels and optimize returns on investments.
- Drive technology standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multivendor platforms.
- Manage all network activities including desktops, servers, printers, and telecommunication.
- Facilitate IP (Internet Protocol), VPN licensing and maintenance.
- Manage product development of Internet based electronic commerce solutions for the distribution market.
- Oversee critical applications including Tessitura, and more. Assess and take ownership of any in-process implementations.
- Lead the Tessitura (ticketing/CRM platform) base product, including the deployment of latest version upgrades and patches for the organization’s primary and secondary applications.
- Improve ticketing platform/CRM utilization to analyze product performance.
- Oversees and supervises the creation of Tessitura training programs, facilitates workshops and vendor coordinated training on business applications, including new and updated releases.
- Collaboratively guide decision making about key business applications through a ROI (Return on Investment) and road mapping process.
- Develop knowledge management infrastructure and implement staff training, best practices and other guidance that ensure common use, strong security, and continuity.
Data Integrity, Validation and Security:
- Assess, select, and implement a central data platform/warehouse capability to enable self-service data practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop data governance including integrity, and insight capabilities.
- Maintain the security and integrity of POKC's data; mitigate and close security gaps based on risk profile and severity of gaps.
- Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Plan to protect information assets and assure business continuity.
Database Administration and Security:
- Monitors and diagnoses database performance issues.
- Conducts annual compliance testing and verification.
- Develops backup and recovery strategies of the business applications and databases.
- Keeps data secure by managing accessibility.
Project Management
- Works with team to maintain project plans and monitor work progress.
- Creates and maintains change management processes, standard operating procedures, and other technical documentation.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
15+ years of relevant technology experience ideally within non-profit, performing arts, academia, or other analogous sectors, with at least five years in a leadership position.

A record of accomplishment of conceptualizing, integrating, and supporting a hybrid technology environment comprised of proprietary and vendor platforms and solutions.
Modern technical skills related to:

- Solution Implementation and administration (including requirements analysis, software design, quality assurance testing, evaluation, and operational management)
- Data management systems and a strong background with relational databases
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Master's degree in Business Administration or related field a plus.
