The Carroll County Attorney's Office seeks help in the Victim Services Department. This important job will assist victims and witnesses through the criminal justice system.

Our office is collaborative and collegial. Our hire must be a team player who will be mission-focused. This position is funded through a special funding initiative, and is currently only guaranteed for one year. All regular county benefits are available, including retirement account through the New Hampshire State retirement fund. A thorough background check will be conducted, including a criminal record search.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*- The essential job functions listed below are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. 1. Prepare witness lists, prepare and issue subpoenas for victims and witnesses, for evidentiary hearings and for trial.

2. Contact police departments to locate victim and witness information. Work with Carroll County investigator to locate witnesses.

3. Assist with scheduling of meetings with victims and witnesses.

4. Assist the Victim Services Department in preparing victims and witnesses for testifying in Court or at depositions, and attend meetings with prosecutor to review testimony.

5. Assist the Victim Services Department in providing support to victims and witnesses throughout the criminal justice system process.

6. Assist the Victim Services Department in performing outreach to victims to keep them informed of the case status, hearing dates, plea negotiations, appeal process, parole/release, and advising them of their rights pursuant to the NH Victims’ Bill of Rights, RSA 21-M: 8-k.

7. Assist in organizing meetings of the Sexual Assault Resource Team.

8. Maintain the privacy of victim, witness, and all case information that is not public.
