Radio Free Asia is seeking a versatile, creative, and motivated Video Journalist capable of explaining and uncovering Asia for a global audience to create and edit video stories for RFA’s English language website and social media platforms.

Responsibilities Include:

• Shaping, pitching, and developing story ideas.
• Taking on video assignments independently – from shaping, pitching, and developing ideas, to filming and writing text components – until completion.
• Working on other pieces as assigned for the website and social media platforms.
• Working with editors and writers, assigning shootings to complement articles and special reports.
• Working with the Investigative, Creative and English teams, as well as other editors to develop strong video stories.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in editorial video production, conceptualization, and assigning.
• Excellent news judgment and a passion for visual journalism.
• Demonstrated ability in video storytelling.
• Strong computer and digital skills. Familiarity with web tools and video editing programs.
• An understanding of mobile-first experience and design.
• Fluency in English and preferably one of RFA’s broadcast languages.
