Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Water Resources EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering in the development of water resource projects for federal, state, and local clients.
  • Water Resources EITs typically work on technical analyses and design tasks related to reservoir operations, habitat restoration, hydraulic systems operations, hydraulic structure performance, erosion countermeasures, flood risk, sea level rise, coastal restoration, and water conveyance systems.
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and dam/levee assessments.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies.
  • Assist the Senior Engineer with engineering studies, designs, contract documentation preparation, technical report writing, and graphic presentation.
  • Perform site layout, calculations
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/treatment projects
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Interest or experience designing water resources projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word,
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to quality, teaming, innovative problem solving, communication, relationship management, and the culture that is integral to our employee ownership model

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT
  • 0+ years general Civil Engineering experience
  • MS preferred
  • Candidates without an EIT will be considered for Coordinator role
