Writer's Assistant Job at Legacy Launch Pad Publishing
More and more, today’s thought leaders are cutting out the middlemen and building audiences and platforms on their own. In doing this, these seven- (and eight-) figure entrepreneurs are learning an important lesson: they have to tell their own stories.
That’s where we come in.
Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is a fast-growing, LA-based company that pairs New York Times and Wall Street Journal-bestselling authors and editors with elite entrepreneurs to spread their message and 10x their businesses.
Through our process, leaders of any industry can walk in with an idea and leave with a beautiful, finished book that gets them on podcasts, TEDx stages, bestseller lists and more. In many cases, working with us changes their lives.
We do all this thanks to the vision and experience of our founder, Anna David, and a brilliant, cross-functional team of writers, editors and designers.
And right now, our team of writers needs an assistant.
We choose writers assistants carefully—not only based on their experience, writing abilities and creative vision, but also on their passion for helping others tell their stories. As such, we are open to candidates who have skills and passion but who may not yet have extensive professional writing experience.
Our goal with this position is to teach the next generation of young writers what creating a non-fiction book that’s indistinguishable from a traditionally published New York Times bestselling book requires by giving them the opportunity to assist our writers with their research. After getting experience assisting on books, interested writers assistants will have the opportunity to be promoted to assistant writers—and eventually senior writers with assistants of their own.
If you think this role might be for you, please consider the following questions:
- Are you passionate about books and writing?
- Are you interested in breaking into the publishing industry?
- Are you looking to master the writing process inside and out by learning from an all-star team of writers and editors?
- Are you a voracious learner who’s passionate about entrepreneurship?
- Do you want to work with a fast-growing company that’s disrupting traditional publishers and putting the power back in the hands of creators?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, know that a writer’s assistant’s duties include:
- Transcribing and correcting interviews
- File organization
- Gathering Clients’ online writing and content for repurposing into books as necessary
- Creating, editing and proofing citations to fit our style guide
- Collecting relevant research to enrich Clients’ books
Other requirements of this position include:
- Flexible availability (no need for a specific number of hours per week)
- Ability to respond to team communication within 24-48 hours
- Google Drive experience
- Some professional writing experience preferred
If this is you, email us at melanie @legacylaunchpadpub.com with your resume and “Legacy of Success” in the subject line for a chance to help us introduce the next generation of best-selling authors to the business world.
We look forward to hearing from you! Or make somebody’s day by forwarding this to someone you know who would be perfect for this!
