JOB MISSION:

The Global Social Media Associate role is equal parts calendar programming, community management, and content development, and sits within the Global Media Team, reporting into the Global Paid/Owned Media Sr. Marketing Manager. This person will own the brand’s day-to-day engagements on social, while partnering with Brand, Performance and Lifestyle teams to support key brand initiatives, product launches, and athlete activations through social communication that is in line with NB’s distinctive brand guidelines. Strong writing skills are a must, as well as a deep understanding of how to tell stories across various social channels and content formats.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Lead NB’s social content strategy

  • Own NB’s day-to-day content planning, calendaring, and publishing across key social platforms
  • Partner with Brand, Performance, and Lifestyle teams to support key brand initiatives, product launches, and athlete activations via social messaging
  • Continue to evolve NB’s social channel strategy to ensure the brand maintains an authentic and culturally relevant social presence into the future

2. Drive follower growth & amplification of social messaging via paid boosting strategy

3. Lead NB’s community management and outreach strategy

  • Drive NB’s distinctive brand voice across key global social channels via consumer conversation
  • Identify and pursue engagement opportunities for the brand based on real-time trends in sport & culture
  • Collaborate with customer care to handle incoming support inquiries

4. Partner with NB analytics team to measure and analyze the success of content & engagement efforts

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 3+ years of social media marketing experience (content calendaring and community management experience are a must)
  • Exceptional writing skills – proven ability to deliver on a brand’s voice on social
  • Basic design skills (Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator) with an eye for digital design aesthetics that resonate on social media
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Experience with social management & listening platforms (i.e. Sprinklr, Netbase, etc.)
  • Passion for New Balance, sports, fashion, pop culture, social media, PR, and online/tech trends
  • Footwear, apparel, or athletic experience a plus
