Preschool and Toddler Teachers Job at Discovery Early Learning Center
We are currently hiring for Preschool and Toddler teachers to join our team! We are offering a sign on bonus up to $1000.00 for all candidates who currently qualify as Lead Teacher with an Bachelor or Associates degrees in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Teachers are responsible for cultivating a safe, nurturing environment while maintaining quality, developmentally appropriate curriculums for our early childcare programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure that our early childhood program complies with all Illinois licensing requirements
· Prepare weekly lesson plans using TSG based on the developmental needs of the classroom
· Observe and record behaviors of children to assist in identifying each child’s strengths and growth areas
· Attend parent meetings, home visits, parent/teacher conferences as required
· Perform quarterly screenings and assessments to identify developmental milestones
· Participate in professional development and training opportunities
· Provide leadership and supervision of interactions, activities, and materials appropriate for children’s social, cognitive, emotional, intellectual and physical development
· Protect and enhance the health and safety of the children and staff at the Early Childhood Center
· Maintain an inviting physical environment which fosters optimal growth and development
· Inform and welcome parents as observers and contributors to the classroom/program
· Represent the program in the community
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have a A.A or B.A. degree in early childhood education/Child Development, B.A in an any discipline with at least 28 credit hours in ECE/CD or a CDA with an preschool endorsement. Candidates with an ECE Level 4 or ECE Level 5 will also be considered.
· Must have leadership, management and organizational skills
· Must have NO criminal convictions for child related offenses, including neglect or abuse
We are currently also hiring for our South Chicago, Dolton and Riverdale location.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
