Talascend is seeking a skilled OEM Sales Engineer for direct hire placement with our client located in the Metro Detroit area.
SUMMARY:
As the Sales Engineer, you will collaborate with key OEM customers to understand needs and provide key support and guidance on technical projects/products focused on the goals of the customer and organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. or related technical field, or a combination of coursework and experience.
3+ years of experience within the automotive OEM markets within a Sales Engineering or Engineering capacity. Prior experience with Automotive OEMs and Heavy Truck OEMs or parts distributors.
Excellent technical aptitude is needed as well as the ability to listen and understand OEM nuances and needs to effectively articulate with the customer and internal teams is critical for this role. Strong project management, influencing, time management, researching, planning/prioritizing, and organizational skills are essential.
Intermediate PC/device skills, experience with MS Projects to maintain daily details and report on projects.
Customer-focused; proven achievement in exceeding job expectations or driving goals and growing a customer base through selling a high-quality product. Highly relational and influential, with strong networking skills, to attain, maintain and grow key accounts.
Typical Work Week:
M-F; some weekends required (when applicable); 45-50 hours a week on average
Travel:
Approximately 50% to start; will be less as the client base is built
